KURT9000: STRETCH | Yoga Play Ground

Project Description |

The goal of the class "Stretch" is to develop a lightweight installation with textile technology and the purpose of the installation is to help autistic children interact with others. The material of the structure is fiberglass rod which can offer very strong and rigid structure when it is bend. Meanwhile, we are required to use a simulation tool, SpringForm, to analyze the behavior of the fabric and use 3D knitting CNC to fabricate the installation. Furthermore, in this project, the architectural students will cooperate with the students from computer science department who are responsible for the software design of interactive mechanism.

Our project is from the concept of yoga postures and design an installation for Ara who is our subject to enhance her muscle tone and create more opportunities for interacting with other people.
